"The practice of good food hygiene not only safeguards the health of consumers but it also makes good business sense. Businesses that fail to recognise this reality are losing touch with the requirements of their customers."Environmental Health Officers Association (www.ehoa.ie)
Since 1998 it has been a legal requirement for all food workers in Ireland to be suitably trained in good food hygiene practices.
New European legislation introduced in January 2006 means that is now a legal requirement for key staff to be trained in the principles and application of HACCP.
A range of externally certified courses are available to meet the needs of the catering, hospitality, retail, foodservice, food processing and distribution industries.
All courses can be delivered either as "open" courses for trade groups, public etc. or as "in house" company specific courses. "In house" courses can be tailored to meet the specific needs of clients and can include pre or post training visits and audits.
Shorter, tailor made course can also be provided "in House" for example for refresher training or for temporary staff. Such courses are not externally certified and certificates of attendance only are provided.
