We will be running the FETAC Level 5 "Workplace Food Safety & Hygiene" (L22150) training course on the following dates:

Course Details:

Accreditation:

A basic level food safety course accredited by FETAC and leading to the FETAC Component Certificate in Level 5 Workplace Food Safety & Hygiene.

The module is designed to provide learners with knowledge of food safety and hygiene required in a food business.

The course is a mandatory module on the FETAC Major Award Level 5 – Butchering Skills and can be used towards the following FETAC Level 5 Major Awards:

  • Level 5 Certificate in Childcare
  • Level 5 Certificate in Community & Health Services
  • Level 5 Certificate in Supervision in Childcare
  • Level 5 Certificate in Healthcare Support

The course complies with the training requirements of current food safety legislation.

Who Will Benefit:

The course is suited to all food handlers in the retail, catering & food processing industries, including supermarkets, restaurants, canteens, coffee shops, hotels, butchers, filling stations, convenience stores, crèches, nursing homes, food factories etc.

Preferred Entry Level:

Basic understanding of English language.  No special requirements.

  • Unit 5: Personal Hygiene
  • Unit 6: Pest Control
  • Unit 7: Cleaning
  • Unit 8: HACCP

Assessment:

  • Skills Demonstration (including completion of work-book)                        80%
  • Learner Record                                                                                                    20%

GRADING:

  • Pass                        50 – 64%
  • Merit                         65 – 79%
  • Distinction              80 – 100%
